Music Curriculum Overview

Music Curriculum

Since St. John’s Lutheran School recognizes the value of music and its rich heritage in the Lutheran Church, the school offers many ways for students to participate and grow musically through a wide variety of opportunities for the children both in the classroom and beyond.

School choirs at all grade levels are that extra part of the music program where students can participate in worship services, Wednesday morning chapel, and the Music Festival at the end of the year.

The students also go on field trips to hear live musical performances and expand their music appreciation.  These include musical productions at the Hemmens that are offered for the community and for schools and also the Kidz Konzert series offered by the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.
