As your PAWS Executive Committee, We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the 2015-2016 school year at St. John’s Lutheran School. The purpose of PAWS is to support the faculty, staff, parents, and most especially our students. Over the years, PAWS has become one of the strongest voices in the educational process that directly supports our children and school. This year will be no different. Your PAWS Executive Committee has been busy developing the details for a very productive and exciting year aimed at enhancing the educational environment for all of our students.
A unique fellowship fundraising project this year is our monthly no-cook nights. In September we gathered at Colonial and raised $215. In October, it was a Chili's night which raised $188. The next restaurant fundraiser is Sunday, November 8th, from 11:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. at Bootleggers on Route 31 in Dundee. We hope to see school and church families there throughout the day.
The Dance-a-thon on October 16th was a grand event with enjoyment for everyone. There was a chili cook-off, pumpkin carving, and, of course, dancing. Everyone had so much fun, and over $6,000 was raised for the benefit of St. John's School.
Any parent can help with planning the events PAWS sponsors for the good of the school and its families. Come to the next PAWS meeting on November 17th at 6:30 P.M. to offer your help. The next big project is the Fay's BBQ night to be held on December 2nd from 3-8 P.M. We need many volunteers to make this night successful.
We in PAWS believe that it is of ultimate importance that we do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children as they truly are our future. It will take all of us working together to ensure that this happens.
We look forward to working with you this year.
