St. John's Volleyball Tournament

September 30 and October 1st mark the days for St. John's to host its annual volleyball tournament.  Games begin on Friday afternoon at 4:00 P.M. with the Lady Cougars playing their first game at 7:00 P.M.  Play resumes Saturday morning at 8:30 A.M.  The tournament bracket is posted, and updates on game results will be shared as games are completed.  Teams participating are: Immanuel Lutheran School - Belvidere, Trinity Oaks Christian Academy - Cary, Immanuel Lutheran School - Crystal Lake, Immanuel Lutheran School - East Dundee, St. John's Lutheran School - Elgin, St. Thomas More - Elgin, Westminster Christian School - Elgin, and Zion Lutheran School - Marengo.

Spirit Week Excitement

Anticipation mounts as St. John's volleyball tournament approaches.  Spirit Week activities build Cougar pride and help support our team.  Events are as follows:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 30 - Nice Clothes Day
  • Thursday, October 1 - Favorite Sports Theme Day
  • Friday, October 2 - School Colors Day with Pep Assembly at 1:45 P.M.

Participate in each theme day and then come to support our team as they play their first game at 7:00 P.M. on Friday!

Let the Volleyball Season Begin!

The volleyball team has been practicing hard and is excited to begin their season's competition.  St. John's is proud to have two teams that compete in league play and participate in tournaments.  The junior varsity team has twelve fourth and fifth graders while the varsity team has nine players from sixth through eighth grade.  Away games are scheduled for September 8th, 10th, and 15th while the first home games for everyone to cheer on the Cougars are Thursday, September 17, at 4:30 and 5:30 P.M.

Boys Tournament - Feb 6-7

Congratulations to Immanuel Lutheran School in Dundee for winning the tournament championship and to St. Paul Lutheran, Rochelle, for finishing in second place.

Volunteer Sign-up

This year again every family is required to volunteer 3 hours during the sports season. If you volunteer more than 3 hours your extra hours can go towards your family's SOS hours. Please call the school office to schedule your time. Thanks so much!
