Consulting Principal

“Inspiring each student, teacher, administrator and organization to think more deeply, work more strategically, and trust God more fully energizes the work that I do.”

Janet Zimdahl brings a variety of career experiences to her work at St. John’s.  She began her teaching career here as the fourth grade teacher, then later developed and taught an ability focused language arts program for the upper grades and introduced the teaching of high school algebra into the eighth grade curriculum.  She also expanded the lower grade P.E. program to include the teaching of swimming.  Twice she has served as the school’s interim principal.

Other experiences in education include developing and teaching a new Lutheran middle school, along with past opportunities to serve as a middle school director, a high school principal, an executive director, and a director of strategic planning.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Master of Arts in School Leadership, both of which were earned at Concordia University Chicago.

She enjoys the whole field of education, both teaching and administration.
