Preschool Teacher

“I am excited about the things my preschoolers and I do every day.  It is such a joy to see how eager they are to come to school.”

Linda Childers loves working with young children.  She makes sure each child receives the genuine, loving care and attention needed to learn and grow. She makes sure that her preschool students develop a love for learning by doing creative hands-on activities such as baking, making crayons, and planting seeds.  She also is very skilled at working with each individual student at their own level and helping them to develop.

Mrs. Childers graduated on the Dean’s List from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of Kappa Delta Pi (an Honor Society in Education) and Mu Alpha Theta (a National Mathematics Club). She has been a teacher for 18 years.

St. John’s has always been a part of Mrs. Childers’ life.   She was baptized as a baby at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She and her three children all attended St. John’s Lutheran School from Preschool and Kindergarten through 8th Grade. “Now,” she says, “I am blessed to work here!  The families we serve here are wonderful!”
