Kindergarten Teacher - Choir Director

"Oh, how I enjoy working with the little ones and sharing God’s love with them! St. John’s Lutheran Church and School is a family where we can learn together and grow together in God’s love.”

With these words one readily sees Donna Woock’s enthusiasm for teaching. She prepared for her teaching career by studying at Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. She has taught in Lutheran Schools for over 28 years, spending 18 of those years as Kindergarten teacher at St. John’s.

She knows how special the Kindergarten year is for little ones. They learn through playing, listening, discovering, pretending, reading, writing, watching, and exploring so Mrs. Woock designs learning experiences that utilize these activities so important to young children.  That makes it fun for them to learn and practice the skills they need. Most important, she creates a Christ-centered environment where teacher and students share the love of Jesus every day.

Mrs. Woock is a wonderful asset to the music ministry of St. John’s where she works together with her husband who is the music director for St. John’s Church and School. She directs the Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, and the Middle School Joyful Singers.  She and her husband have three grown children who all graduated from St. John’s Lutheran School.

Her inspiration to serve as a Lutheran teacher came from attending a Lutheran elementary school and experiencing the wonderful benefits of learning in a high quality, caring Christian environment.
